Twelve years in Serie A2 between Monza and Cantù, 36 in total in the world of volleyball: Massimo “MaxRed” Redaelli is Daniele Morato’s new deputy. A very high-profile figure to guarantee an indispensable touch of experience in the new structure of the technical staff. Brianzolo doc from Carate Brianza, born in 1964, began his career in 1986, reaching peaks such as the promotion from Serie B1 to A2 with Monza. In the decade with Pool Libertas, where he also held the position of General Manager for two years, three highpoints: the second personal leap from B1 to A2 in 2013, the play-off final in 2014 and the semifinal lost in the match 3 right in Bergamo in 2019. In Canturina it was the second of Luciano Cominetti and Massimo Della Rosa. Since 2012, however, he has been on the staff of the men’s regional selection participating in the Trophy of the Regions as 3rd coach and scoutman. The palmares: 4 gold medals (2013-2014-2015-2018 with Oreste Vacondio head coach) and 2 bronze medals (2016-2022). Curiosity: the last two medals in chronological order, 2018 and 2022, were won together with Morato.
“The call was unexpected – admits Redaelli -, but the passion and enthusiasm that I have always put into the field did not make me hesitate even for a moment. Too much desire to get back in the game and doing it in Bergamo is certainly something special. We have faced each other many times as opponents. Furthermore, over the years, beautiful relationships have been established. I’m pleased to find Vito Insalata, my player at Monza, as well as working with Morato, a young and well-prepared coach with whom I have shared the common path for the Trofeo delle Regioni for some time. The first goal is to put my experience at the service of society and of a group that just needs to get together. But the potential is high and we will do everything to bring it out again at its best”.
