The race for the place in the Challenge Cup ends with the “funnel” Final Phase of the Credem Banca 5th Place Play Offs. The teams that finished between first and fourth place in the Group will challenge each other in the Semifinals in a single match on Sunday at 18.00 on the field of the best-ranked Club: the crossroads are Perugia – Modena and Monza – Padua.

A few days after the face-to-face match that took place on the third day of the grouping for 5th place, Vero Volley Monza finds Volleyball Padova back on its field, with the aim of repeating the good match in the group, closed in three set after 90 minutes, with three players repeatedly scoring, Arthur Szwarc top scorer and 10 team blocks to defuse the Paduan attack harnessed to the point that the Veneto team left the field without any double-digit elements. After reaching the Semifinal thanks to the winning tie break against Perugia, the Paduan giants have gained confidence and fortitude, but conquering the Monza Arena in an inside or outside match is a tough undertaking. The Brianzas closed the Regular Season seventh and the Group for 5th place in second place, while the Paduans won the Preliminaries with an entry pass from tenth position and reached the Semifinal as quarterfinals.

The 5th Place Play Offs give an encore. After the match on the fourth day of the Group, once again at the PalaBarton two big names from SuperLega Credem Banca are facing each other, Sir Safety Susa Perugia, ruler of the Regular Season, then crashed in Game 5 of the Quarterfinals against Milan, and Valsa Group Modena, winner of the CEV Cup and third strength of the regular season who came out of the hunt for the Italian flag in extremis, due to the internal slip in Game 5 of the Quarterfinals in the via Emilia derby against Piacenza. Over the course of the season, the Block Devils have always had the upper hand with the yellows, conceding just one set in three games to Andrea Giani’s men and imposing themselves with the maximum difference in the two crosses at the PalaBarton. Earvin Ngapeth and company believe in the enterprise. The precious 3-1 home victory against Verona, served for the last minute overtaking on the Scala family, gave a lot of energy. Sir will have to sweat.
