The Delta Group Porto Viro market is increasingly tinged with blue: completing the central department of the Polesine team is the Under 21 national team Mattia Eccher, born in 2003, 201 centimeters tall.

Currently engaged in Bahrain for the World Cup in his category, last summer Eccher won the U20 European Championship together with the former Delta Group Battocchio and Iervolino, before moving – speaking of international experiences – to the Swiss championship, among the ranks of Chênois Geneva, with which he won the Swiss Cup and competed in the CEV Cup.

Born in Vimercate, in the province of Monza and Brianza, Eccher too – like the other two nerofuchsia new signings Chiloiro and Barotto – linked the beginnings of his career to the Brugherio volleyball school. After the Under 16 national silver medal in the 2018/2019 season and the award for best center back in Italy, in 2019/2020 he moved to the Under 19/Serie B with Powervolley Milano. As captain, he obtains the bronze medal in the national category finals, then enters the Brugherio Serie A3 roster with which he plays 29 matches over two seasons. In the meantime, his youthful career is embellished with the victory of the Junior League 2022 (Daniele Morato on the bench), a competition that he competes again this year, once he returns from Switzerland, finishing in second place.

Directly from the retirement of the U21 national team, Eccher expresses his satisfaction at having landed at the Delta Group and in the Serie A2 Credem Banca championship: “I have always heard good things about Porto Viro, a serious company that is committed and believes a lot in what it does . The dedication and attention that the club reserves to the athletes on and off the pitch certainly made my decision easier, as did the presence of Daniele Morato as coach: we know each other very well, we have many years of youth behind us and I full trust and respect for his figure. Arriving in Serie A2 so young – he continues – is a dream that many have but few manage to achieve, I thank Delta for this opportunity and for the trust it has placed in me. I really want to do well, I can’t wait to start and continue learning in this new environment”.
