President of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi is once again at the top of the ranking of sports managers drawn up by StageUp and Ipsos, with the third place in the ranking of managers of institutional organizations. In fact, the “SV Manager” ranking rewards the best sports managers every year according to two criteria: popularity and notoriety.

After the success of 2021, Valentina Vezzali is also confirmed as the most appreciated sports manager by Italians in 2022: 74% of voters appreciated the work of the outgoing Undersecretary for Sport, followed by the president and CEO of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali (64%) and by the president of the Serie A Volleyball League Massimo Righi, who received a positive assessment from 63% of those interested in the sport. The excellent result is confirmed by the fact that even if the managers of football clubs are included in the count, the President of the Serie A Volleyball League would still be included in the “top 5”, with only the former AC Milan CEO Ivan Gazidis (66%) and the president of Atalanta BC Antonio Percassi (64%) to alter the hierarchy.

In the “notoriety” category, however, the leaders of the world of football dominate, with the president of AC Napoli Aurelio De Laurentis in the lead, recognized by 60% of those interested in sport, followed by the CEO of Ac Monza Adriano Galliani (57%) and by the president of SS Lazio Claudio Lotito (51%). Among the institutional offices, the president of CONI Giovanni Malagò, and again Valentina Vezzali, are in the lead, both recognized by 49%, followed by Stefano Domenicali with 26%.

“The Sponsor Value data on the satisfaction of sports managers in 2022 – declares Giovanni Palazzi, President of StageUp – confirm, also thanks to the centrality of the debate on the repercussions of the health emergency, the relevance of both institutional figures and non-football managers who, enjoying less notoriety among the general public, they are evaluated by enthusiasts as competent and capable of effective work as well as quality. The confirmation at the top of the ranking of the outgoing Undersecretary Valentina Vezzali fits this scenario, also highlighting how Italians are paying more and more attention to sport as an activity with strong social and economic repercussions for the country. As far as notoriety is concerned, football is confirmed as a stage without equal: the entire podium is occupied by football managers with Aurelio De Laurentiis in first place, the most effective, thanks to the results and a simple and direct communication of ideas and opinions ”.
