The red and whites on court yesterday at 6pm, the first time for the team that will face the 2023/2024 Serie A3 championship. There was curiosity about the many arrivals this summer and it was also an opportunity to test the form of Banca Macerata after the first weeks of intense preparation, with a joint training session with one of the next opponents in the Blue Group, Erm Group San Giustino.

The result ended with a 3-0 in favor of Banca Macerata, with three hard-fought sets during which the red and whites expressed themselves well and there was the opportunity to see almost all the new arrivals on the market, as well as the young players of the roster. However, Sanfilippo and Orazi, two central defenders, were out, leaving room for the young Owusu. In the first two sets, Banca Macerata immediately went ahead, holding the advantage until the final points: if in the first set San Giustino recovered, forcing the red and whites to a tight 26-24, in the second the hosts, with already several changes implemented by coach Castellano kept the opponents at a distance, finishing 25-19. Infinite third set, with Macerata leading the result but once again the advantages were needed, this time extended to 32-30. The two coaches then agreed to continue for a fourth set, with several changes on both sides: it was San Giustino who took the lead, with Macerata forced to chase; The comeback was unsuccessful for the red and whites who lost 19-25.

An important first test for Banca Macerata, which will continue its preparation with a new joint training session on Saturday, hosted by Abba Pineto, a Serie A2 team but former opponents of the red and whites in the recent A3 championships.
