Preparation has begun for our boys under the watchful eye of Coach Lorizio and second coach Giuseppe Pisano grappling with the first physical tests, days of work in the pool and first training sessions at the Palazzetto. After the first meeting with the Management and the initial greetings at the Palazzetto di Villa D’Agri, home of the Biancorossi,  where we met our athletes, the following days were intense, starting with athletic preparation  under the watchful eye of Prof. Ghizzoni and the Physiotherapist from Abruzzo. Friday morning usual appointment at the pool and then move to the building in the afternoon where Coach Lorizio was able to study the boys well, talk to them and start studying the work plan in view of the start of the championship. On Saturday afternoon, free from team commitments, the athletes were invited to the sports festival held in the square at Villa D’Agri, a day dedicated to sporting inclusion, trying their hand at various sports from sitting volleyball to field hockey where, between laughter and lots of fun, they played a friendly match with the boys of the national field hockey team with down syndrome, under the amused eyes of many participants in the event, demonstrating that sport has no limits.

“ The first days of preparation are essential to create a group, to lay the foundations for an initial idea of a team, a group and to check the physical conditions of the athletes after the summer break. All the boys did what was the program I sent them in July before the start, so we were able to start doing a fairly intense job, physically protecting them from the risk of inflammation, programmed by the staff. We’re working in the pool to restart the tendon-muscle stimulus that maybe had been set aside in the jumps. I am therefore satisfied with these first few days, the next few weeks will be very tough for them because they will see the maximum peak in almost the whole season in terms of work, in terms of muscle; the boys were all very receptive to the proposed programs, they will just have to put their will and desire to do it.” These are the first declarations of the trainer Vincenzo Ghizzoni, who in these three days has been the fundamental figure for the team.
