The participation of Sir Sicoma Perugia in the next Club World Cup, scheduled from 6 to 10 December 2023 in Bangalore, India, has been made official by the FIVB. The Block Devils will try to defend the title won last year in Betim in Brazil and will have as opponents the Turkish side Halkbank Ankara (qualified for the event, as did Perugia, as semi-finalists of the Champions League after the withdrawal of the two finalists), the Brazilians Sada Cruzeiro and Itambè Minas (first and second place in the last South American club championship), the Japanese Suntory Sunbirds (winners of the Asian club championship) and the Indian hosts Ahmedabad Defenders (winners of the Indian, the RuPay Prime Volleyball League).
