A triple change of ‘shirt’ that pushes the Normanna Aversa Academy to Serie A2, the Mirandola Volleyball Stadium to A3 while Agnelli Bergamo finds itself – after the final play off for the SuperLega – without the volleyball that counts. This is what emerged from the press conference – held in the city of Aversa – in the presence of the three presidents of the volleyball associations (Sergio Di Meo for Aversa in person, Angelo Agnelli and Fabrizio Silvestri for Mirandola via video link). The Wow Green House Aversa then returns to the second most important championship in Italy by acquiring the title of a company, the one from Bergamo, which in the last 7 years of A2 (4 like Agnelli and another 3 like Agnelli Tipiesse) has won 8 overall finals putting in bulletin board 2 Italian Cups and 2 Super Cups. During the conference, there were also greetings from Massimo Righi, president of the Serie A Volleyball League.

Angelo Agnelli, commenting on his decision to transfer the Serie A2 title to the Normanna Aversa Academy, addressed President Di Meo and the Aversa supporters, underlining that “this title represents a deep and intrinsic love story, and I am sure you will be able to give continuity to this story, seasoning it with satisfactions, victories and great battles in the field. I hope that, beyond your sporting successes, you will be able to carry on our concept of sport, which is not only linked to the competitive sphere, but also to the creation of a large family and a large movement. A movement that unites people and values, that grows and consolidates over time, and that can be a source of pride for all those who will be part of it. My sincere best wishes for this important milestone, and may you write together a new, exciting page in the history of volleyball”.

In the press conference, President Di Meo thanked the patron of Bergamo, Agnelli, for the kind words, reiterating the company’s desire to “honour the history of an important reality like the Bergamo one in the best possible way, trying to do great things in the city of volleyball, Aversa. A deep friendship binds me to President Agnelli, together – as members of the Board of Directors of the League – we have worked side by side to give more and more life to the splendid world of volleyball. It is a source of pride for us to bring Serie A2 back to the PalaJacazzi, we have worked on it in the last few weeks and as soon as this possibility emerged we did not let it slip away. Heartfelt thanks go to President Agnelli who strongly wanted this title to land in Campania, and precisely in our city.
