Pineto Volley is pleased to announce the appointment of Cezar Douglas Silva as the new coach for the 2026/27 Serie A2 Credem Banca season. This is a welcome return to the blue-and-white bench: the Brazilian coach had already led the Abruzzo club to safety in the second division in 2024, taking over during the season and leaving fond memories on the Adriatic coast for his expertise, hard work, and undeniable human qualities.

Given his successful past, Sports Director Massimo Forese quickly identified Simone Di Tommaso’s successor as Pineto Volley coach, on the eve of a year in which President Gianni Pallini’s club will once again aim for a top-flight championship.

Cezar Douglas Silva, 55, returns to Italy and Pineto two years after his experience in the 2023/24 season, when the Brazilian coach took over during the Serie A2 season. In between, he gained significant experience, first in Poland with Steam Hemarpol Norwid Częstochowa and then in his homeland with Suzano Vôlei, a club with which he finished second in the Paulista Championship. His Italian stints prior to Pineto, however, include
successes in Serie A2, the Coppa Italia, and the Supercoppa in the 2022/23 season at the helm of Tonno Callipo Calabria Vibo Valentia, followed by a stint in the Superleague with Catania. The Brazilian coach’s career began with stints in his homeland with Vôlei Futuro Araçatuba, São Bernardo, Vôlei Taubaté, and with the Brazilian U23 national team, before arriving in Italy in the 2017/18 season as coach of Andria. In 2019, he was appointed assistant coach at Santa Croce, where he returned as head coach in the 2021/2022 season. In between there was also a stint in Qatar with Al Gharafa.
