Prisma Gioiella Taranto market starts off crackling. The president Antonio Bongiovanni announces that the Ionian club has reached an agreement with an international champion, the spiker Filippo Lanza.

Born in 1991 for 1.96m from Zevio, in the province of Verona, Lanza returns to Italy after two seasons abroad and does so by choosing to wear the Gioiella Prisma Taranto shirt and will therefore enrich the rossoblù spiker sector.

The choice fell on a great athlete with vast international experience with such an important palmarés that he would need no introduction, a champion who wore the blue shirt for more than 13 years, winning important trophies and awards.

Filippo Lanza starts in the Trentino Volley youth team and then moves on to Club Italia; he later returned to Trentino volleyball where he spent seven years in the first team and won two club world championships, two Italian Super Cups, 2 Scudetti and two Italian Cups.

In the 2018-2019 season he moved to Perugia to Sir with which he won an Italian Cup and the Italian Super Cup from 2018 to 2019. After the first months of the 2020-2021 season played in Perugia, he found space in Monza and later, after the championship , goes to France to Chaumont in the French Ligue A. The following year he chooses China where he trains while waiting for the start of the season, he spends a brief period in November at Top Volley Cisterna while waiting for China to start the sports season, however the championship is postponed and suspended and Lanza moves following year in Belchatow In Poland where he played the last championship together with other champions such as Atanasijevic and Kooy.

The strong spiker honored the Azzurri shirt for several years by winning a lot, first with the under 20, 21 and 23 selection, then with the senior national team: in 2013 he won the gold medal at the XVII Mediterranean Games in Mersin, a bronze World League, silver at the European championship and bronze at the 2013 men’s volleyball Grand Champions Cup, mvp of the event. In 2014 he won again the bronze at the World League, then in 2015 he won the bronze at the European championship and the silver at the World Cup.
