It starts with an advantage for Bari where Wojcik leads the team to 3-6. La Rinascita comes back to serve with the Lithuanian Vaskelis with support from Mauro di Pizzichini and Fioretti. Rinascita’s lead continues 14-11 with Miscione blocking the pass. Nicotra leads 18-12 in service with Fortunato receiving and blocking a Bruno in attack. Bring home the Rinascita Lagonegro set with 25-17.

This second set begins balanced with 5-5 with Piazza directing an increasingly charged Nicotra. The balance maintains the order of the set with a 12-12 but Pizzichini, Piazza, Nicotra with a three-way block give the team a one-point lead, which holds it until 21-19. The second set also belongs to Lagonegro with 26-24.

Third set Just British starts with the lead with a 7-8 but Fioretti redeems the game and takes the lead with a 9-8. Rinascita volley leads the game bringing the score to 19-15, subsequently with a 25-20 winning the set.

For the fourth set, coach Lorizio makes substitutions. Enter Dietre, Molinari, Mastrangelo, Bongiorno, Caletti. Balanced set like most of the match, Bari-Lagonegro started with a 2-2 and maintained the balance with an 11-11,17-17 until Lagonegro’s comeback with Dietre on serve advancing with a 24-19. Lagonegro takes home the set with 25-20 and ends the match with four sets won.

Coach Lorizio’s boys are starting to get into gear for what will be an arduous championship, with the first match away from home in Modica on October 15th. Today in Lagonegro the club will present the team and staff in Piazza Bonaventura Picardi at 4.30 pm, wishing good luck for the start of the championship.
