Last season WiMORE Salsomaggiore was the surprise of the championship as it was the newly promoted team that achieved the best placing in the regular season – fifth place – with 44 points in total, just two from third. As if that wasn’t enough, they won the round of 16 against the most popular Macerata and then only exited in the quarterfinals against Leo Shoes Casarano who then reached the final.

Net of this, last year the Volley Team Club still managed to win 5 of the 6 points available against the Emilians. The 3-0 in the first leg [25-23, 25-21, 25-22] gave us hope for the San Donato team’s standings as they prevailed 3-2 in the return leg at PalaRaschi [25-27, 25-21, 23- 25, 25-21, 12-15].

Just over 8 months later the two teams return to face each other in the Serie A3 Championship.
Two teams changed both in terms of roster and bench with two coaches making their debut in the third national men’s volleyball championship.

“There is a great desire to start and above all – comments coach Moretti – the boys are preparing as best they can for the first match against Salsomaggiore. We are training every day so we are in excitement because now after a month and a half of preparation it is It’s time to start. We will meet a team very similar to us made up of expert players and excellent young players like Marco Cantagalli, who did very well in the pre season, and the foreigner Van Solkema who knows the championship very well having played in Brugherio the year last year. Other players, however, were promoted to starters and were already part of the roster last year such as Beltrami and the central Bussolari. The coach comes from many years of youth so I believe he was chosen for his ability to fill the gaps during the season”.

Finally, some indications on the championship that we can expect from Personal Time San Donà “After this preparation I cannot say with certainty our ambitions for the coming year because we are missing the official matches which act as a litmus test. The first three matches will be interlocutory (against WiMORE Parma, Sarlux Sarroch and Gamma Chimica Brugherio) while on the fourth and fifth day we will meet Belluno and Bologna, who, being two teams who want to stay at the top of the table, will be able to tell us more about the season that awaits us.
