The twenty-third day of the A3 series championship on Wednesday assigned a rest period to Avimecc Volley Modica who took advantage of it to take a breather and recover from some ailments in view of the final rush of the regular season.

Over the weekend the Third Series tournament will have a break to make room for the Italian Cup Final Four scheduled in Fano.

Coach Enzo Distefano and his staff, however, made the “Gallettis” work throughout the week and when the championship resumes they will be involved in the difficult trip to the Just British Bari field. This afternoon the coach of the Modica sextet had the his athletes the last weekly training session, immediately afterwards he gave the “break ranks” and allowed two days of rest. The team will meet at the “PalaRizza” on Monday to prepare for the important trip to Puglia, from where they hope to return with important points for the ranking in view of the play-off fight.

“This week was a double rest for us, as we didn’t play as required by the calendar in the midweek round and at the weekend the championship stops to make room for the Italian Cup – explains coach Enzo Distefano – we worked calmly having no commitments competitive and we took advantage of this week without commitments to recharge our batteries in view of the very treacherous away match in Bari. A break that served us to metabolise the defeat in four sets last Saturday at home to Fano, we analyzed it together with the boys, but after the two days of rest that I granted, from Monday we will focus on the away match in Bari which for us will be another final from which we must necessarily emerge with points. The defeat against Fano came from playing not at our best, but knowing their value, we must take only the positive ideas from that match which will be the ones we need for the continuation of the championship, where in addition to Bari, we will face league leaders Macerata at the “PalaRizza ” and then close the regular season in Palmi, with top-level teams with whom we will have to give our all. For the fight for a place in the play offs – concludes Enzo Distefano – Avimecc Volley Modica is there and will be there because we have the desire to do well and reach the objective set at the beginning of the season and from the beginning of the season, in every session we have worked in training and will continue to do so to try to achieve it.”
