With the matches played yesterday, Wednesday 17 January, the group stage of the CEV Champions League 2024 ends. All three SuperLega Credem Banca teams concluded their group in first place. Civitanova improves its ranking among the top teams thanks to the 3-0 home victory, but is already preparing for a quarter-final with a high difficulty coefficient against the winner, in the Play Off round, between Zaksa and Halkbank Ankara. Trento, however, lost its unbeaten record in the last match of the group, placing itself in the scoreboard as the third best “first place”, where it will be joined by the winner between Tours and Berlin. An away victory for Piacenza, in Berlin, which guarantees them first place in the pool, but as fifth among the “top ranked”, forcing Anastasi’s men into a clash against another top team, namely Jastrzebski Wegiel.
