Not a happy moment, in terms of results, for Gabbiano Farmamed Mantova. In Sarroch, on the last first leg of the white group, Gola and his teammates stumbled into the second defeat in a row, after losing their unbeaten home record against Belluno. From first place they fell to fourth, but they qualified for the quarter-finals of the A3 Coppa Italia, which will be played on Tuesday 7 January on the Personal Time San Donà pitch, with kick-off at 8.30pm.

«I am very happy about the match in Sardinia – coach Simone Serafini analyses – because I saw a team with a capital S, which fought against difficulties and against an opponent who is recovering and prepared for the high rankings. There is regret for the result, but certainly not for the performance. Catellani well replaced Depalma despite having played little so far, but I had no doubts. We lacked a bit of sharpness, especially in the second set, but the reaction was good in the third and also good in the first part of the fourth. One day the results come, other days they don’t, but I repeat, the performance was there.”

Serafini is therefore not worried: «I would be worried if I had seen a team that had shown me negative signs in terms of commitment or attitude on the pitch. It’s not like that. We have a renewed and young team and highs and lows in performance must be taken into account. The episodes did not reward us in Sardinia, but this does not cause me concern.
