The next obstacle on Belluno Volley’s path is perhaps the highest that could happen in the quarter-finals. Because it is that OmiFer Palmi who, this season, has already raised two trophies to the sky. Both in a month of March destined to go down in the history of the Calabrian club, capable of triumphing in the Italian Cup of Serie A3 (and winning the final, in Fano, in front of the hosts) and in the Super Cup, on the eve of Easter, against Gabbiano Mantova. In the regular season, however, the group coached by Andrea Radici ranked fourth and, in the initial round of the playoffs, eliminated San Giustino by virtue of a double 3-1 success.

PROGRAM – In Palmi no one intends to settle. On the contrary: after the two trophies, the hunt for the “treble” begins. And, consequently, to the jump to A2. An ambitious plan, which the rhinos will try to change by leveraging the field factor. Because game 1 of the quarterfinals will be staged at the Spes Arena: Sunday 14 April, at 6 pm. For the second act we will then move to Calabria, Sunday 21 (also at 6 pm). And the eventual decisive match would still be scheduled at the Spes Arena, on Wednesday 24th (8.30 pm).

EXPERIENCE AND INDIVIDUALITY – The technical assistant of Belluno Volley, Roberto Malaguti, reveals the contours of OmiFer: «We will meet an expert team, with an average age of 29.5 years. The roster is complete in every fundamental way.” Behind an excellent team there cannot fail to be notable individuals: «Starting with a setter of the caliber of Francesco Cottarelli. He is in his ninth season in Serie A and played in the Super League with Taranto, as Falaschi’s assistant.” And then there is an athlete who loves to take responsibility, in addition to the spotlight: Pawel Stabrawa. «The Polish opposite is in his second year in Calabria and his fourth consecutive year in A3. He is a point of reference for Palmi: just think that he averages 21 points per match.”

NATIVE – Also pay attention to two forwards in place 4 such as Francesco Corrado (three championships in A1 in Vibo Valentia) and the native Peppino Carboni: «In the centre, however, Giancarlo Rau acts. And Carmelo Gitto, in his twentieth year in Serie A: he wore the shirts of Macerata, Latina and Verona. As for the libero, it’s Francesco Donati: he’s also a former Verona player.” Malaguti has no doubts: «It will be a good challenge».
