All very beautiful!
Sir Susa Vim Perugia returned last night from Bologna with an extra guest on the bus, the Del Monte®Coppa Italia won at the Unipol Arena by beating Monza in the final and the reality is that this weekend in Emilia was really very beautiful.
The result was obviously beautiful, the result of the great work of the boys on the pitch and of all the technical, medical and physiotherapy staff.
Great for the club which, after successes in the Super Cup and the Club World Cup, sees all the efforts made and the passion demonstrated on a daily basis repaid.
Nice for the quality that was seen in these two days with four teams of absolute technical value.
Nice for the Juventus fans who literally stormed the steps of the Casalecchio di Reno stadium, also putting on a show in the stands.
Beautiful for the context with the packed Unipol Arena and wonderful setting for the great volleyball offered on the pitch by the four protagonists.
The Block Devils bring back to Perugia an Italian Cup of great value and increasingly difficult to conquer with the level of the Italian championship constantly growing.
Today it is right to celebrate and exalt the exploits of the Bianconeri and their leader Angelo Lorenzetti, from tomorrow the head will be back in the box because the Super League does not allow breaks and because there is still a long way to go.
Tomorrow precisely because today the best way to define the joy felt yesterday in Casalecchio di Reno is to do so with the words of the protagonists.
“We are very happy,” says Simone Giannelli. “We promised ourselves, in addition to obviously hoping to win the cup, to return to Perugia with something and we are returning after a good weekend with many good things and many things we can improve. I thank my teammates, the staff, the club, obviously I thank the fans and our family members who came here to cheer and give us support. Half the building was white, our fans are great and supported us even when we were down both on Saturday and Sunday. In this Final Four we came out of two really tough games against two opponents who played really well.
“A lot of stuff yesterday,” says a beaming Sebastian Solè. “We weren’t at PalaBarton, but it looked quite a similar place with all our fans there. It was a tough undertaking, they always consider us favourites, if you win it’s a given, but if you lose it’s tough. We deserved it, we arrived in Bologna humble, showing some good volleyball and it was a great victory for the team, the club and the city.”
