Gioiella Prisma Taranto Volley is pleased to announce the hiring of the talented Italian spiker Tim Held. Born in Macerata on 17 April 1998, 191 cm tall, Tim brings with him a prestigious family legacy in the world of volleyball, being the son of the famous volleyball player Henk-Jan Held, silver and gold medalist at the Barcelona Olympics and Atlanta.

Tim Held’s career has gone through several stages of growth. After a promising start with Modena, where he played several seasons in the lower divisions, Held also demonstrated his value at a professional level with teams such as Volley Tricolore, AVS Bolzano, and Olimpia Bergamo.

The 2023-24 season marked an epic moment for Held, as he made his debut in the prestigious Super League with Sir Susa Perugia. In this memorable season, Held won a series of prestigious titles, including the Italian Super Cup, the World Club Championship, the Italian Cup and the recent national scudetto.

In addition to his successes at club level, Held has also shone on the international scene, making his debut for the Italian national team in 2023 and contributing to the gold medal at the XXXI World University Games.

With his talent, his determination and his international experience, Tim Held presents himself as a precious asset for Gioiella Prisma Taranto Volley, ready to amaze and reach new heights with his contribution on the pitch.

His first words:

“I am very happy with the opportunity that the Taranto club has given me, after an incredible year in Perugia I felt I needed to get involved and that is why I accepted with great pleasure to come here. There is a lot of work to do to achieve our goals because the championship is tough and gets higher every year, and above all to see how far we can go! I thank the club again for the trust placed in me and I can’t wait to start this new season together!”
