San Giustino Volleyball never stops. On the weekend in which the senior team of the ErmGroup observes the rest period in the Serie A3 Credem Banca championship, the company – together with the Coni Center – has decided to combine sport, charity and joy, calling together all its members, the volleyball enthusiasts and the inhabitants of the Upper Tiber Valley for a great event in its first edition: “Il Viglione dei Campioni”, the proceeds of which will go to charity for the two social realities present. And a champion in volleyball, as well as in life, will be the central character of the evening of Saturday 17 February at the Clover Disco in Selci Lama: he is Giacomo “Jack” Sintini, a great “symbol” of Italian volleyball and not only for the many titles won in Europe and for the championships won. His victorious battle against cancer and for life and success as a “mental coach” after his brilliant competitive career will be the subject of the testimony around which, from 9.30 pm onwards, the meeting with those present will develop, which will see Gabrio Possenti and the former international volleyball referee, Simone Santi, as leaders of the discussion with the public. “Our company’s objective is to educate young people about commitment and following rules and styles of behavior that will be precious for their future – said Claudio Bigi, CEO of Pallavolo San Giustino – and therefore we needed to propose a strong figure to take as an example. Giacomo Sintini is the person we focused on, as he is suitable for transmitting these values. With great pleasure, we will have him among us.” The event’s lineup includes another significant moment with Dr. Massimo Floris and his Ghismo onlus for a project that promotes “pet therapy” for physical disabilities. After the delivery of the scholarships for the athletes of the biancazzurro association, made available by Banca Mediolanum, at 11pm it will be the turn of David Gori, president of the Fondazione Progetto Valtiberina, who collaborated in the realization of the event and who will focus on the ethical implications of sports practice, talking about the project that the Foundation has in mind for the area. From 11.30pm, guests will leave room for a pleasant epilogue renamed “Midnight Snack”, with the culinary specialties of a local farm and the tasting of wines from the local farm “La Palerna”, before the final DJ set which will close the party in beauty and joy.
