A defeat to leave behind and another chance, the last one, to extend the series. ABBA Pineto, who resumed work on Tuesday at the Pala Santa Maria, did so with a clear objective: to quickly file away the 3-1 home defeat suffered last Sunday at the hands of Smartsystem Essence Hotels Fano and start again from the reaction of the third and fourth sets. After all, the formula of the Coppa Italia round of 16, the last seasonal commitment for the white and blues, still leaves room for maneuver, albeit with the pressure deriving from only one possible result, that of victory. Without mincing words: on April 13 (Sunday), from 7:00 pm at the Palasport di Allende in Fano, ABBA will have as its only option that of victory, a necessary condition to extend the series until game-3 on the following April 19 in Pineto.

“It will be a do-or-die match, to be played away and full of technical, mental and emotional pitfalls” says Simone Di Tommaso, coach of ABBA. “This however must not be a limit and instead must represent an additional incentive to play our cards to bring the series back to Pineto in game-3. We will have to try to consistently express good volleyball: this will be useful if we want to win, that is, to express ourselves continuously, more consistently, efficiently and improving error management compared to game-1, making an impact right from the start with great competitive spirit and not only when, as instead happened at home, the match has already presented us with difficulties and we ended up 2-0 behind”.
