On Sunday at 4:00 PM, San Filippo opens its doors to one of the most exciting matches on paper, against Virtus, the bête noire of Consoli Sferc Centrale, unbeaten in two years of competition in the division, ending with three tie-breaks out of four matches played.
Aversa, after a strong start, suffered three setbacks against Ravenna, Lagonegro, and Porto Viro, but is coming off a three-point win against Sorrento, achieved under coach Graziosi, who arrived in Campania to replace Tommasello on November 25th.
Virtus have the same number of points as the Tucani and will travel to Brescia to try to overtake them. The starting lineup has been largely revamped: the main diagonal is untouchable, entrusted to the tireless Garnica and last season’s top scorer Motzo, with Vattovaz acting as a substitute early on when he was injured. Tiozzo and Tallone are the experienced pair of fullbacks, fresh arrivals from Cantù and Ravenna, while at center Mattei (formerly of Grottazzolina in the SuperLega) is joined by Mazza and Volpato, a signing from Cuneo whom the Tucani know well. The libero is Raffa, already seen in Fano.
