Present at the Eurosuole Forum, already on the first day of athletic training, was setter Mattia Boninfante, fresh from his VNL debut with the Italian national team and the subsequent bronze medal at the Universiade in Germany. The Veneto player, in his second year with the red and whites, has had a positive outcome.

Mattia Boninfante (setter, Cucine Lube Civitanova): “Being here in Civitanova wearing the Lube jersey gives me great feelings. I’m happy to be back with the atmosphere, the staff, and the team, even if it’s reduced in size given the commitments of many of our teammates with their respective national teams. This euphoria must be carried through throughout the preparation. Last year, we confirmed ourselves as one of the best teams on several fronts. A new championship awaits us, a different story, so we’ll have to work hard again to set high goals and enjoy this season as well. The season with Lube and the journey with the national team have given me so much experience. Last year I was a rookie, having never played a full competition at this level, but I’m coming to the start with a season under my belt and I can feel the difference. The work with the national team also gave me a lot; it was great to make my debut. I’m keeping these emotions inside me, knowing that maintaining a very high level of commitment will be crucial!”
