Modena and its PalaPanini will be among the cities hosting the 2026 European Men’s Volleyball Championships. The venue is preparing to reopen for a major event after hosting a VNL group in 2018 and the FIVB Women’s World Championship in 2014. From September 11 to 17, 2026, all matches in Pool A will be held at the Modena facility (except the opening match scheduled for September 10 in Naples), which also includes Ferdinando De Giorgi’s Italy. The draw that will determine the composition of the pools and the Azzurri’s opponents will be held at the Castello Svevo in Bari on October 4, 2025, at 8:45 PM.

Modena Volley’s patron, Christian Storci, said: “It’s a great joy and a privilege to host another extraordinary international event at the Palapanini. For Modena and all its fans, it will be a thrill to see Italy and the other national teams up close. Of course, it will be a significant organizational effort for Modena Volley as well, but we’re approaching it with enthusiasm because we believe in a vibrant Palapanini, capable of igniting passion and hosting major events, especially sporting ones. It will be a celebration for the city and for all volleyball lovers.”
