The start of the Serie A2 men’s volleyball championship, which kicks off on October 19th, is approaching, and Sviluppo Sud Catania is taking stock of the first two weeks of preparation.
Leonel Marshall, the star player, charismatic leader, and experienced man of the red-and-blue team, painted a clear picture.
“These have been two very tough weeks,” Marshall stated. “Our coach has made us work intensely, but with great effectiveness.”
Marshall is ready to lead the red-and-blues through the championship’s difficulties and to mentor the younger players: “The feelings I have in these first few days are very positive. We have a substantially young group, it’s true, but we’ve created a nice mix of youth and experience. This makes me confident, because a wonderful understanding has developed right from the start. The boys are really eager to prove their worth and do well in this championship, and we’ve already seen that in these two weeks.”
A team spirit that represents the foundation on which to build the future: “We hope to continue on this path,” the Cuban athlete continued, “because Serie A2 is a very difficult championship. To tackle it, you need consistency and the ability to work every day with the right mentality.”
