After a Sunday off granted by Coach Morato, Cisterna Volley returned to training today with a double session split between the gym and the field. The third test of the season is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24th (7:00 PM), against “Lo Sviluppo Sud Catania,” at the Palazzetto di Cisterna. The joint training session played last Saturday against Perugia, the second in seven days against the Umbrian team, highlighted the “team’s growth,” as Morato emphasized after the match, but also highlighted weaknesses that need to be addressed.
Ahead of the match against Catania, Daniele Mazzone, in his third season with Cisterna, spoke.
The two matches played against Perugia showed that we need to improve significantly in our approach, our focus, and also in our character, in terms of getting used to overcoming difficult moments quickly. Reacting to negative situations during a match is crucial in a sport like ours. Given our current physical condition, which isn’t yet at its peak, there may be a few lapses, but they shouldn’t be an excuse. From a technical and tactical standpoint, we definitely need to improve our serving, as well as our receiving.
