Good feelings but also ideas to work on: the first test of the season for Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina ended with satisfaction, having held a joint training session with Fano at PalaSavelli on Saturday. It was a useful training session, especially for getting back on the field and starting to lubricate the mechanisms, still in the running-in phase. “The first outing is always special, even if it’s just a test,” commented coach Massimiliano Ortenzi. “We had set some goals on the handoff and are working on mechanisms that are not yet fluid, but that’s normal. There were ups and downs, some difficulties in receiving on aspects that we usually manage better, but the approach was positive. I saw competitive spirit and dedication.”
Despite the September heat and the sea just a stone’s throw away, the view from the stands was impressive: many fans were present and numerous season tickets were already purchased ahead of the season opener set for October 20th. “We’re happy with the enthusiasm we’re experiencing,” Ortenzi added. “For a September test, on a Saturday afternoon and with such a beautiful day, the response from the crowd was excellent. The guys can sense it, and this pushes us to work even harder. Once we’re fully back at our full strength, we’ll have to build the right mindset to tackle the season in the best possible way.”
