Landon Currie is the new libero of Cisterna Volley. A Canadian athlete with an international profile, he arrives in Italy to face his first season in the Credem Banca Superleague after having been a protagonist first in France with the Nice jersey and then in Belgium with the VC Greenyard Maaseik team, with whom he concluded the last season in fourth place in the Belgian League, after joining the team at the end of the 23/24 season. Born in 1999, 175 cm, originally from Vernon (Canada), Landon brings with him an international profile and a constantly growing career. He took his first steps at the TRU WolfPack in Kamloops, and then continued at the Golden Bears of the University of Alberta in Edmonton, before living a fruitful two years in Europe. “At first it was a real surprise to find out that I would be playing in Italy next season, but obviously I’m very excited – says the new libero of Cisterna Volley – I have the opportunity to compete in one of the best leagues in the world, and it’s something I’ve been dreaming about for a long time and I’m very happy about it. I’ve already had a small taste of Italy: the culture, the people, the food, everything has fascinated me and I can’t wait to experience it fully with the Cisterna Volley jersey. I’m already trying to familiarize myself with the language, I’m ready and motivated to try my hand at a context different from those I’ve experienced up until now”.
