An evening of sport, memories, and the future for Reggio Calabria volleyball
An emotional evening celebrating the values of sport, its achievements, and the people who play a leading role in it. The ceremony organized by the Italian Volleyball Federation (FIPAV) took place yesterday in the Federica Monteleone Hall of Palazzo Campanella, seat of the Calabria Regional Council.
Many new developments were highlighted, including the official announcement of the highly important return of the senior national team to the Palacalafiore next August, and numerous awards in memory of President Giuseppe Cormaci.
A standing ovation for the awarding of the prestigious FIPAV Benemerito Coach to the Amaranto technical director, Bruno “Billy” Gurnari.
The event was a moment of gathering and reflection on a sport that inspires entire generations, yet faces a severe lack of facilities in the area, limiting the opportunities for clubs to train and compete.
After a minute of silence in memory of the longtime president of the Fipav territorial committee, Peppino Cormaci, the evening reached its climax. The well-deserved successes of the 2024/2025 season were celebrated.
