The broken hand is just a distant memory, while the emotions of a year lived to the fullest with Cucine Lube Civitanova still hover in the head of captain Fabio Balaso, fresh from his debut in the VNL 2025 with the Italian National Team. Called up for the Chicago stage by Coach Ferdinando De Giorgi, the libero cook immediately took the group by the hand, obtaining important results, which earned him provisional third place. At the moment “the machine” is Civitanova Marche waiting to start again.
How did the impact with the National Team at the VNL go?
Balaso: “Returning to wear the blue jersey is always nice, as is the summer reintegration into the group. I would say that we all did it in the best way possible, playing a great stage. It’s a shame about the only defeat in a match that we could have won, but at this stage a misstep can spur us not to let our guard down and to improve for the future”.
How is the hand fractured in training in the Scudetto Play Offs going?
“Luckily the pain is a distant memory! My hand is much better, I removed the brace when I started training with the national team. So I’m on the pitch without protection or even bandages. I felt good. The most violent balls were felt, but not in a too impactful way. We can now declare the hand issue closed!”.
