After twenty-nine days of preparation, held entirely at the BTS Arena in Trento, the Itas Trentino men’s team faces their first test match of the season. On Wednesday, September 17, starting at approximately 6:30 PM at the Via Fersina facility, the Italian champions will test their form for the first time against an opponent, Gabbiano FarmaMed Mantova of Serie A3.
The match—unofficial and scheduled during regular training hours—will provide the coaching staff with an opportunity to assess the work accomplished so far by the six players present during the first training period.
Given the limited number of players available on the official roster, Assistant Coach Adriano Di Pinto (who has led all the technical training sessions during this initial period) will draw heavily from the UniTrento Volley group (Trentino Volley’s junior team, which will be back in the Serie B championship in October) that has been preparing for the first four weeks. In addition to Acquarone, Bristot, Ramon, Sandu, Pesaresi, and Laurenzano, the young middle blockers Frassanella and Taddei, setter Mussari, opposite hitters Boschini and D’Amato, and spiker Giani could be on the court, as well as Matey Kaziyski, who has been working regularly with the group since mid-August.
