“I’m almost embarrassed by this welcome.” Waiting to show off his grit and determination on the field, Stefano Giannotti doesn’t hide his emotions on the day of his presentation as the new opposite hitter of Belluno Volley. After facing the rhinos as an opponent, now the thirty-six-year-old from San Donà di Piave wants to play a leading role at the VHV Arena.
THREE FINALS – “To be honest,” he explained, “I didn’t expect the interest of the Belluno club. I’m really happy that they evaluated me as a player and also as a person. I don’t know yet how the season will go: the only thing I know is that I will always give my all, with all my strength.” Giannotti has a deep desire to turn the page: “I lost three finals in a few months, but in sport you always start from scratch. The important thing is to treasure the past. To get to the top, there are no recipes or advice: you have to create a group, training after training. And be convinced of your own means.” The opposite will meet Alexander Berger again: “I was lucky enough to play with him in Padua, in the Superleague. He really impressed me, he’s an absolute top athlete. And then I know Mozzato, a nice and quiet guy, as well as Marsili, met at some tournaments”.
