Marco Soncini, pillar of Domotek Volley Reggio Calabria, emotionally retraces an unforgettable season, between sacrifices, record crowds and that special group that made it all possible.

“Now that the euphoria has passed, I can say that it was a beautiful experience”, the volleyball player begins.
“The secret? “I wasn’t the only one pushing: everyone did their part, and that’s why we got so far, despite the difficulties.”

“From the first match with the half-empty building to the 4,400 people screaming… it was pure magic”, he says with shining eyes. “People identified with us. It’s a shame we didn’t reach the final, but the memories will last forever: this city and its fans are incredible.”

On the coach who brought him to Italy, Antonio Polimeni, the Argentine talent is clear: “I’ve known him for 4 years, I owe him a lot. He was able to create a united group, leaving us space to express ourselves.”
And on the “duel” in the gym with Lazzaretto: “He is fantastic, we pushed each other every day. This healthy competition with everyone – Zappoli, Laganà, Picardo, Saverio De Santis and others – made us improve.”

“Now that it’s over, I miss everything: the training, the laughter, the 9 months spent together. With a group like this, every sacrifice – even at Christmas! – was worth it.”
