Several teams in A2 and A3 sought him out, but he chose Fano.
Nicola Iannelli, born in 1999, from the Virtus school, will be the new libero of Virtus Volley Fano. And he explains his choice as follows: “Why not play for the city I love and for the club that raised me? The feelings and motivations that tie you to a place are fundamental, playing at home is not like playing anywhere else”.
Nicola has clear ideas but also a curriculum that makes it clear how the twenty-six-year-old can also become a protagonist in A2. After the years in Virtus (2016-2019) in which Iannelli also earned a promotion to the A3 series, the arrival in the Superleague at the court of Andrea Giani (Modena). Here everything changes: “In the Superleague I understood the professionalism linked to this sport. Playing alongside Zaitsev, Christenson, Anderson and other champions made me grow in terms of sporting and competitive maturity”. Iannelli then moved to New York to study and here, always in the libero role, he played in the prestigious American First Division, the highest level of the NCAA Championship.
For Nicola, the time has come to challenge the A2 series: “I have great motivation and I am sure that it will be a positive championship. I am in the place where I can give my best and I will arrive with great humility on tiptoe”.
