Costa-Anderlini – Best Coach in SuperLega, Serie A2, and Serie A3
Dedicated to: Angelo Costa (1918-1977), volleyball coach and winner of the first four men’s volleyball championships. He tied his coaching career to Ravenna; Franco Anderlini (1921-1984), volleyball coach, winner of eight championships with Modena between 1957 and 1974. Between 1975 and 1977, he led the Italian national team.
Gianfranco Badiali – Best Italian U23 in SuperLega, Serie A2, and Serie A3
A volleyball player who played for the Falconara team, the team where he grew up, passed away prematurely in 1988 due to illness. The Falconara sports hall is dedicated to Badiali.
Andrei Kuznetsov – Top scorer in SuperLega, Serie A2, and Serie A3
This award is named in memory of Andrei Kuznetsov (1966-1994), a Soviet volleyball player—who has been Russian since 1991—who spent his competitive career playing for Italy, playing for Lazio, Capurso Gioia, and 4 Torri Ferrara. He died prematurely on December 30, 1994, following a car accident near Francavilla al Mare. The municipality of Gioia del Colle (the club with which he achieved promotion to Serie A1) named one of the city’s sports arenas after him.
Ilario Toniolo and Cesare Massaro – Top referee in SuperLega and Serie A2/A3
This award goes to the best referees in SuperLega and Serie A2/A3, and is dedicated to the memory of two former volleyball referees in Italy.
