After the confirmations, here are the new arrivals: the players have changed, but not the ambitions. Pallavolo Macerata is pleased to announce the signing of setter Lorenzo Esposito, the new director of the red and white orchestra, for the 2026/2027 season from Banca Macerata Fisiomed.
Born in 2003, originally from Ascoli Piceno, Esposito returns to the Marche region after several experiences around Italy that highlighted his qualities, immediately attracting the attention of Macerata scouts. Having grown up in his hometown and then in the Lube Civitanova youth academy—with the highlight of being called up to the U17 national team for the European qualifiers—the young setter has since worn the jerseys of Gioia del Colle, Cuneo, Foligno, Reggio Calabria, and Lagonegro. A journey built with courage and self-confidence, he is now a well-rounded player, ready for new responsibilities. Coaches Giannini and Leoni know him well and have identified him as the right man to enhance the game of the new red and white team.
For Esposito, who will wear the number 9 jersey, this is a homecoming, this time with a leading role. It was a quick decision, as the player himself explains:
“I chose Macerata because from the first contacts I sensed great professionalism, ambition, and trust in me. It was crucial for me to find an environment that would allow me to further grow, both as an athlete and as a person, and I believe all the conditions for that are there here.”
