Marchiani still in Grottazzolina

Manuele Marchiani, setter of the Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina team and a key figure in the team’s stellar run of recent years, was thrilled to be awarded the “Loreto Meraviglia – Eccellenze Lauretane 2025” prize. This is the highest honor for a true Lauretan who has written significant chapters in the history of volleyball, starting right from his hometown, with a career that speaks for itself. “This is an award that makes me extremely proud and brings me great emotions. It’s recognition from my city for the successes I’ve achieved thanks to Grottazzolina; it was a great pleasure to be on that stage. As a team, we achieved a winning run from the A3 league to the Superleague, achieving an incredible relegation. Years of great achievements and genuine emotions. The best one to remember? I’d say winning the A2 league and getting promoted to the Superleague; that day in Siena was amazing. I repeat, this award is very important to me: I’m already an honorary citizen of Grottazzolina, but I grew up in Loreto and completed my entire career from the youth ranks. Home is always home.”
