A month of work is already behind them for Yuasa Battery Grottazzolina, which is preparing, though not yet fully formed due to the international commitments of some players, especially the World Cup, for its historic second season in the Super League. In this championship, too, Andrea Marchisio will be leading the second-line operations, in addition to his role as a true leader of the Yuasa fans. Marchisio is in his third season in Grottazzolina, having secured promotion to the Super League in his first year and a splendid relegation to the post in his second. He will be responsible for recounting this first phase of sweat and toil under the guidance of coach Ortenzi and his staff.
This first month is going well. We’ve been pushing hard in the weight room, as is normal at this stage, with good ball sessions to find the right chemistry and mechanisms, even with the new players. Against Fano was our first outing: I must say that we managed to play some good games at times, showing clarity in key moments of the sets. Thanks to the strengths we also had last year—our serve and side out—we managed to stay calm and recover some points in the key phases of the match. There are positive feelings, especially when you work hard and recover from critical situations.
