Gabriele Mariani has been called up by Technical Director and Head Coach Vincenzo Fanizza for the Italian National Under-21 team’s training camp currently underway in Camigliatello Silano, in the province of Cosenza. The 2005-born setter, a new addition to Plus Volleyball Sabaudia, has been selected to participate in this important federal event, which concludes on July 25th.
The call-up to the national team represents significant recognition for the young Pisan setter, who is preparing for the new season in Serie A3 with the Pontine team, following stints with Monza (Superlega) and Palmi (A2). This news confirms Mariani’s talent and also rewards the Club’s project, which has chosen to focus on him with conviction.
“We are happy for Gabriele and for this call-up, and seeing him work with the national team is a source of pride for our entire team,” explains Sporting Director Paolo Torre. “It means we are building something serious, focusing on quality young players who represent the present and future of Italian volleyball.”
A positive sign, therefore, that extends beyond the field and reinforces Plus Sabaudia’s mission: to grow and help others grow, with ambition, passion, and expertise.
