During the match against Gaia Energy Napoli on November 9th, Javier Martinez and Mario Catinelli set two personal bests. The number 7 player reached the milestone of 1,100 career points in all competitions (and is just a few points shy of 1,000 in the regular season), while the Dragons setter reached 200 career points.
Martinez: “Great satisfaction”
I wasn’t aware of this record,” the Argentine player commented, “but it’s always a wonderful thing, and I was very happy. Against Napoli, we were excited and knew they weren’t at 100%, and they were missing a very important player: Simone Starace. We set our sights from the start on starting strong from the first points without making too many mistakes. Winning is never a given, and for us, it was also crucial for the standings, even if they’re very close for now, so there’s no point even looking at them.
Catinelli: “Unexpected, I’m very happy.”
“I’m very happy with the victory against Napoli for the whole team. These results help the dressing room. We really needed it; it was one of those do-or-die games, and we showed on the pitch that we can stay in this division.
