After the Coppa Italia won in the tie break against Treviso as second coach of Lube in 2003 in Trento, coach Giampaolo Medei this evening won his first Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega as head coach against Verona at the Unipol Arena, thus canceling the defeat suffered at the reins of the red and whites in the unfortunate showdown lost against Perugia 3-1 at the PalaFlorio in Bari in 2018.
GIAMPAOLO MEDEI (coach): “I dedicate this trophy to my wife Enrica because too many times my work has taken me far and she has remained patiently waiting for me and cheering for me. I dedicate all this to her! I am happy and proud to have contributed as head coach to bringing Lube to the top step of the podium. This is a special club for me. The boys were really good at respecting the objective, that is, expressing themselves with the best volleyball possible. Today the change of structure in Verona created problems for us from the third set, but we managed not to give up and come back. From Tuesday we will reset and start again in view of the next objectives.”
