Trentino Volley and the BTS Arena in Trento welcomed back the two-time World Champions today. Just over a week after the Manila final, which gave them their second consecutive world title with Italy, Alessandro Michieletto and Riccardo Sbertoli have joined the Itas Trentino men’s team to begin preparations for their debut in the 2025/26 Credem Banca SuperLega.

Before they can fully prepare, however, they will have to wait a few more days, as between Tuesday and Wednesday the two Italians will once again be away from the Via Fersina facility to be received, along with their national teammates, by President Mattarella at the Quirinale Palace.

With their arrival, Marcelo Mendez now has thirteen of the fourteen players available on the new roster, taking into account only Lavia’s extended absence. The new Argentine coach of Itas Trentino kicked off the eighth week of preparation with a double training session (weights in the morning, technique in the afternoon), which will be repeated in full on Tuesday, while on Wednesday the Italian champions will travel to Schio to face Padova in a friendly match starting at 7 pm.
