Not all points are the same. Not all have the same weight or value. Some are simply decisive: the watershed between what was and what could have been. Well, one of the symbolic plays of game 2 of the playoff semifinal, won in three sets by Belluno Volley over JV Gioia del Colle, was signed by Matteo Mozzato.
WALL – It will be time to rewind the tape and return to the third set: the Apulians, in the comeback phase, perfect the hook at 21. Then, Basso puts the white-blues back in front and shows up to serve. At that point, at 22-21, a break would be needed. And Mozzato arrives, who with a statuesque wall annihilates Mariano’s “pipe” and nails it to the ground. It is the turning point: “Gioia del Colle was coming back to the surface – comments the protagonist -. I am happy to have done my part in such an important moment”.
PRESSURE – Beyond the single episode, the center was the protagonist of a very solid performance: «It was a very difficult match from a mental point of view, but we approached it in the right way, continuing to put pressure on the opponent. Thus, we managed to impose our game from the beginning and take home the victory». The rhinos played the script wonderfully: «The real difference is linked to a break phase very well interpreted by us. In this way, we always created a good gap in points. Was it the best version of the season? For sure, one of the best».
