We couldn’t help but close the presentation of the next roster with the one who has defended our colors the longest and proudly wears our jersey.
Gabriele Pisu will be in the middle of the yellow-blue net again for the 2025/26 season.
For our vice-captain, a key figure in Sarroch, this will be his thirteenth season in these colors: numbers that speak for themselves, but they’re not enough to tell the whole story.
Because Pisu is much more than a center back: he’s grit, identity, and belonging.
He’s the kind of player who needs no introduction, because his story is written in the walls he raises, in the hard-earned victories, and in the post-match hugs.
He’s the symbol of a team that never gives up.
“Gabriele, like Riccardo Romoli, are key figures for our team,” says sporting director Lai. In Sarroch, we’re fortunate to have created a sort of enclave of Sardinians, undoubtedly the best on the island in their roles, with whom we share a common goal and value, a shared commitment that has been perpetuated over the years. It may seem excessive, but without the likes of Pisu, Romoli, Curridori, Mocci, and Leccis, everything we’ve built over the years wouldn’t have the same value. Credit to the club for retaining these athletes, credit to the boys for consistently demonstrating outstanding ethical, as well as sporting, qualities. With Gabriele still with us, we know where we’re starting again: from the heart.
