This is the final piece of Rana Verona’s 2025/2026 roster, but it’s also the first new addition to be officially presented. Uros Planinsic has joined the setter department, joining Micah Christenson. In Verona, the 1998-born setter reunites with Coach Fabio Soli, his former Slovenian national team coach.
The Maribor-born setter gained his first experiences in his homeland with OK Hoce, before joining Merkur Maribor, where he won the Slovenian Championship in the 2020/2021 season. That team also included Rok Mozic, who would join Verona the following year. After his time at Calcit Volley, where he won a gold medal in the national cup, in 2024 Planinsic flew to the Netherlands to play for Nova Tecnhology Lycurgus BV. A longtime member of the Slovenian senior national team, he recently participated in every VNL tournament, including the Finals, finishing a prestigious fourth place.
Planinsic’s first words: “I’m truly happy to begin this new adventure with Rana Verona. Joining an ambitious club, constantly growing and with important goals, is a stimulating opportunity for me. Working alongside a champion like Micah Christenson will be a unique opportunity to grow, learn, and at the same time contribute with determination and commitment.
