After four very intense years, the paths of Lube Volley and assistant coach Romano Giannini are separating. The coach from the Marche region bids farewell to the Italian vice-champions after winning the 2021/22 Scudetto and the 2025 Italian Cup. During his career in red and white, Giannini also achieved other prestigious placings such as second place in the 2021 Club World Cup, second place in the 2025 Challenge Cup, the two SuperLega Credem Banca Play Off Finals (2022/23 and 2024/25) and the two Supercup Finals (2022/23 and 2023/24). In addition to having entered the hearts of the fans, the coach originally from Porto Potenza won everyone over with a stint as head coach, in the final of the 2023/24 SuperLega, after the resignation of Chicco Blengini, leading Lube to triumph in the Play Off 5th Place.
Romano Giannini’s farewell: “I spent unforgettable seasons in Civitanova, where I arrived after a 25-year career. I have indelible memories, starting from the Scudetto up to the Coppa Italia, without forgetting the many finals reached and the stint as head coach, one of the most beautiful experiences because it had always been one of my dreams to take the helm of a top team in the SuperLega. The one just ended was the best year because we had lower expectations, while we reached three Finals raising a trophy to the sky. After a dark period like that of Covid, it was special for me to arrive at Lube.
