A new important signing for Taranto is that of Gabriele Sanfilippo, a 2-meter Sicilian middle blocker, born in 2000, who arrives in the rossoblù roster with great determination and desire for redemption.
Originally from Bronte, in the province of Catania, Gabriele grew up as a sportsman between his hometown and the Etna capital, showing off his physical and technical skills. His career continued with the move to GoldenPlast Civitanova in Serie A3, then the transfer to Med Store Tunit Macerata, where he remained for five seasons, also protagonist of the promotion to A2, growing as a man and as an athlete despite three difficult years, marked by two injuries that slowed his rise.
Today Sanfilippo is ready to relaunch all his potential, strong in a newfound physical condition and the maturity acquired in recent years. Taranto represents a new challenge for him, a new home where he can finally demonstrate his value.
His first words in red and blue:
“I chose Taranto because I immediately perceived a serious, ambitious project, built on solid foundations and with a great desire to do well” – explains Sanfilippo –. “The club showed great dedication from the first contact, and this is fundamental for a player. Here I found a team made up of people with strong values, a city that lives for sport and an environment that made me feel desired and motivated right away.
