Italy’s 2025 Volleyball Nations League campaign concluded with a silver medal. Ferdinando De Giorgi’s Azzurri were defeated 3-0 (22-25, 19-25, and 14-25) by Poland in the 1st-2nd place match. Simone Anzani started and scored three points, Luca Porro came on as a substitute and scored one point, while Giovanni Sanguinetti was left out.
Italy’s attention will now turn to the World Championship, which will be held in Manila, Philippines, from September 12th to 28th. The three Modena Volley players mentioned above have been included in the pre-call list of 25, pending the final list of 14 players.
Third place went to Brazil, who beat Slovenia, led by Fabio Soli from Modena, 3-1 (23-25, 25-20, 25-23, and 25-19). Among the key players was the yellow-blue spiker Arthur Bento, who scored nine points (seven in attack, two blocking).
