This week’s work, the seventh since the start of preparation, will be Vero Volley Monza’s first full-time team. Following the recent arrivals of Jan Zimmermann, Erik Rohrs, and Luka Marttila, the team also welcomed the fourth and final player returning from the World Championships. Martin Atanasov, fresh from winning the silver medal with Bulgaria, will be available to coach Massimo Eccheli starting today to prepare for the first day of the SuperLega season, scheduled for Tuesday, October 21st, at the Opiquad Arena against Sir Susa Scai Perugia.

“My first impressions here in Monza are excellent,” commented the new Vero Volley spiker. “I spoke with my teammates and the coach; it’s great to be part of a project with such young players. I’m excited: I’m also starting to get to know the city; I’ll need a few days.” And about his World Championships: “How do I feel with the silver medal around my neck? I could feel even better if it were gold, but I congratulate Italy on winning. In any case, it’s all very beautiful; we celebrated so much in my country, and I hope the medal can be gold next time.”
