The third and final matchday of the 2025 World Cup group stage, currently underway in the Philippines, has ended.
Libya was knocked out again, 3-0, by Japan, and eliminated from the competition. Ahmed Ikhbayri’s performance stood out, with 11 points (ten attacking and one serving), adding to the 17 he scored against Canada and 19 against Turkey. The yellow-blue opposite hitter will now enjoy a few days of rest before returning to Modena next week.
Brazil also suffered a shock defeat, surprisingly beaten 3-0 by Serbia despite Arthur Bento’s five points (all attacking). With the Czech Republic’s simultaneous victory against China, the Brazilian national team was sensationally eliminated from the World Cup.
Argentina, led by Matias Giraudo, who came on as a substitute during the match, advanced to the round of 16: the Argentine beat France 3-2 in an incredible match and will face Italy, led by Simone Anzani and Luca Porro (both of whom remained on the bench), who also won 3-0 against Ukraine.
