Nearly ten days after their victory in Manila, Philippines, which gave Italy its fifth World Championship title, tomorrow – Wednesday, October 8 – the Azzurri will be received at the Quirinale Palace by President Sergio Mattarella, with the match broadcast live on Rai 2. At 4:00 PM, the Italian Men’s National Team, along with the Women’s National Team, will be present, along with staff and the Federation delegation, for a highly significant match that, once again, confirms and demonstrates the Italian Head of State’s closeness and appreciation for the world of volleyball. Present in Rome, representing the Lega Pallavolo Serie A, are President Massimo Righi and CEO Fabio Fistetto.
A total of 12 of the 14 World Champions are also set to play in the next Credem Banca SuperLega: Itas Trentino, the reigning Italian Champion, will be represented by Alessandro Michieletto and Riccardo Sbertoli; Cucine Lube Civitanova has Fabio Balaso, Mattia Bottolo, and Giovanni Maria Gargiulo among its ranks, while Sir Susa Scai Perugia will be represented by Simone Giannelli and Roberto Russo. Valsa Group Modena will instead count on Simone Anzani and Luca Porro, while Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza will have Gianluca Galassi and Domenico Pace among its key players this season. Rana Verona, on the other hand, will have the play of Francesco Sani on its side.
